Improving Body Literacy - The Nervous System, HRV and Stress - Taylored

Let’s help you better understand your body

This starts with how your body works, namely the nervous system and HRV.

We’re born with one of the most complex and powerful biological engines in the natural world. Yet, growing up, we often have to learn by trial and error how to use it…and for some of us, the mysteries of our body will likely last a lifetime.

If only there was an instruction manual that also “popped out” of our Mum’s belly when we entered the world

Could you imagine how surprised the midwife would be?

But wow…it would be helpful.

THE GOAL OF THIS UPCOMING WEEK IS TO HELP YOU BETTER UNDERSTAND HOW YOUR BODY WORKS AND THIS STARTS WITH YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM.

The nervous system is a highly complex set of anatomical structures and biological processes. These are all delicately intertwined, like yin and yang. Like most things, balance is key ☯️ It is easy to quickly overcomplicate how the nervous system works, so Luke Taylor has started with the basics.

In this video, he introduces the autonomic nervous system and its two branches: parasympathetic and sympathetic.

Luke also discusses how to measure the health of both.

We invite you to measure your resting heart rate and HRV over the course of the next 5-7 days. Need help? Just holler.
